My Uncle Wayne is Back Safe From Haiti!!!

(He had borrowed my camera and so put my blog on a pause. I have decided to use photos from his journey that were taken with my camera to represent the missing days. )

This was his second time there and he is getting ready to go back for a third time already! What a great person, I am very glad to say I am related to him. He understandably didn't have a lot of time to take pictures, and when he did have a spare second, he said there wasn't much to take a picture of. On the last day of his trip, the translator brought my Uncle to his friend's orphanage. This women has started this very well run and organized orphanage, just because she saw the need. My Uncle Wayne got a lot of pics with these kids and around the area. I will post some photos shortly, believe me, they were worth the wait - he captured some very sweet and heartwarming moments at this Haitian orphanage.

So.......update

I know my blog has been on hiatus for a few days. The reason for that is that I have lent my camera to my Uncle Wayne, a London Firefighter, who has gone into Haiti and needed to borrow it. My camera is one of those rough and tough ones that if you drop it, it won't break and it is also water proof. He has gone into Haiti with a group of doctors from Mustard Seed Missions (www.mustardseedmissions.org, they have a blog where you can read about my Uncle's & the other's progress). My Uncle Wayne and the group are in charge of changing the bandages on children with major cuts or recent amputations. The stories has told us from the ground perspective are too heart-wrenching and horrible to write.

I have been keeping up my photo-a-day project by taking pictures with my blackberry, but the quality is very poor (about 2 mega pixels). I am thinking what I will do for the days my Uncle has my camera, I will select a photo that he has taken with that camera to represent those days. I think these will be more symbolic and much more photographically interesting. After he comes home to Canada and returns my camera to me, I will resume my photo blog as I have been doing. One photo taken everyday, on that day.
