This is a photo of the keys from my new car. This was a very emotional moment for me. For the last few years, I have really put a lot of effort, a LOT, into trying to start my own business. I have a very strong entrepreneurial spirit, I defiantly get it from my parents. I have had mediocre success and my business ventures had always been on a small scale. I would always imagine that when I "made it", I would get myself a new car. From a little over a year now, I have been working on a new venture, one that is bigger than anything I had taken on before. I worked very hard at it, especially since this past May and on. I have been paying my dues and trying to bank a little good karma on the way, hoping it would pay off. I decided it was time for me to make it or break it, since I wasn't getting any younger and running out of "youth" time. (Youth time for me is the time you can take to find yourself and explore different avenues of life. I used this time to its absolute fullest!) In May 2009, I officially formed my corporation, Hunter's Empire Ltd. The name is a written version of my ambition - to build an empire to take care financially of myself and my family.
I have never in my life felt that being a women or being young was an obstacle - until recently. Just when I thought my business wasn't going to go anywhere, I got a great break. Now I have a positive project that I am currently working on and things are definitely in the works. I am now able to purchase a brand new car. That moment really felt like I am on my way. This is the beginning of the rest of my life. What a great feeling.

This was actually a last minute change. I originally had a different photo up but as I was editing my photos that I had taken for the day, I really like this one. So I changed my selection. This is my second self portrait in this project, so far. I'm sure there will be a lot more because I will always be a ready subject!

Today was the first day this project was starting to get tough. I found myself taking pictures of things, just for the sake of taking a picture. I decided just to step back, and really look at the angles of things and find something that interests my lens. This is from a decoration in my front hall. I really like the colours shown here.

To Note
I forgot to mention it in my introduction, but I do edit my photos. I know there is many different opinions in the world of photography, to stage or to capture the moment, to edit or to show as is. Since I am still experimenting with my photography hobby, I have decided not to restrict myself. The truth is, I don't really know what I prefer yet. Some photos are stages, some are a real moment in time. Almost all my photos will be edited, some with major effects and some just with light adjusting applied. I don't really have a choice not to edit, at least the lighting, my photos because I am just using a point-and-shoot style camera. One day, (when I have the disposable income!) I am going to purchase a really nice SLR camera. Until then, I work with what I have, and do the best I can with it.

Introduction!!
OOOOk! Well, this is my first time blogging so bear with me here! ;)
I was inspired by another photographer on Facebook for this project, so I can't take credit for the project idea. I saw that a man named Fred Meulemeester, was attempting to take a photo a day for a year. He is a photographer by profession, so a lot of his daily photos were actual photos from his work, mixed in with photos of places and things he had seen. I had a pretty interesting life. My resume has GOT to be the one of the most diverse out there. I have worked as an Entertainer/Dancer/Fire Performer in Mexico in a resort, have working as a Youth Councillor on a major cruise line, become a certified Master Engraver, was at one time the youngest and most successful female Night Club Promoter in my city, have achieved honours and awards on my program of study at Fanshawe College (Business Purchasing was my program) and I am also the head of my own corporation and part owner and Director of Marketing of a major name restaurant, to name a few!!! So I though, how neat would it be if I could attempt to take a photo a day, every day for a whole year, s at the end of that year I would have a documented summery of my year that I could look back on.
Before starting this project, I had to layout some guidelines for myself to follow. I decided that there would be no restrictions on what I could photograph, but it had to be something that interested me that day. Also, the photo actually had to be taken on that exact day - no cheating! Lastly, only one photo per day can be used. This one might be hard because I usually get shutter-happy and have a lot to chose from.
So this is my project. I am not a professional and have no training. I don't have any special camera or equipment. I am just going to do my best with what I have. My camera is a year old (got it Dec 08) an Olympus Stylus 850SW that is shockproof and waterproof (30m). It is an ok camera, but my next camera investment will defiantly be a Canon. Macro and Super Macro settings are my FAVORITE and I find that generally Canon cameras focus better.
If you like/don't like my photos, have suggestions or any comments, I would love to hear it!
